With their grace, beauty, astounding vocals and air tight harmonies En Vogue saw their fiery brand of R&B win over fans from all walks of life, before the group’s first demise in 1997.
Now, 23 years after their debut, the Frank Gatson fuelled group has secured a brand new #1 single this week!
Yes…#1.
How they did it?
Find out below…
After being covered by contestants ‘Rough Copy’ on Phil Heyes’ ‘X Factor UK‘, the ladies’ have seen their signature hit ‘Don’t Let Go’ rocket to iTunes UK’s R&B tally this week, shifting more units in the last few hours than Robin Thicke‘s ‘Blurred Lines’ has done in the last week.
Produced by Organized Noise and co-written by Andrea Martin, the cut’s unexpected ascent to the top comes 17 years after its October 1996 release, enjoying a peak position of #2 on the Billboard Hot 100!
Get that coin, dawn! Kii.

There will never ever be another group like En Vogue! Those harmonies… Their style… Their fashion… The fact they could ALL sing lead effortlessly… Never again.
STILL LOVE THIS SONG, THIS VIDEO AND “SET IT OFF” MOVIE!!
NOT TO MENTION I LOVED EV3 ALBUM!
I WISH THEY WOULD GET THERE HEADS OUT THERE ASSES AND JUST SING! THATS ALL JUST SING!
STILL CAN’T LISTEN TO “TOO GONE TOO LONG” WITHOUT GETTING CHILLS!
What was the single?
Little Mix put this song in the UK charts too from X Factor.
Good job guys; Rough Copy to win!
Wow, congrats! En Vogue is a one of a kind group, filled with superdivas! I hope this encourage them to reunite for the fans just 1 last time!
Great for the ladies but the song was written by IVAN MATIAS & Andrea Martin and En Vogue was NEVER Frank Gatsons group, he was one of their choreographers. Facts are important, but great for the ladies and all involved.
Who?
Newsflash for the ladies of En Vogue: Stop your bitter feuding! The charts and the fans miss you!
While you are right that the charts & fans do miss En Vogue… The main reason why they are not a group right now is because they dont have a supportive record label behind them, willing to give them all the money they deserve <– According to Dawn and Maxine
This is in my top 5 En Vogue songs of all time. 🙂
good for broke dawn!
I wish this group can get it back right & reunite. All four original members!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well thanks to Kelly Rowland this group continues to be coined up with this song.
She originally put the idea into Little Mix to bring the En Vogue sound to the stage which they did and now barely couple years later RC aka Rough Copy do it also.
Salute to them and the buying public who know’s that original track SLAYS
You are a lair. I have just checked the UK itunes chart and Calvin harris is sure to be number 1. One direction come next, and EM and RIH are still top 10. THERE is no en vogue in the UK chart.
It said R&B charts…. Reading comprehension should be your focus,… And spelling too
there is no RNB charts in the UK. They have one official chart and the only black thing topping it is RIH.
You make blacks looks stupid.
Lilly allen is number 1 in the UK. Rih is the only black female on the UK official chart. F*** outta here. If envogue were number 1 in crappy RNB chart, what was their peak in the official chart? number 100?
But Tulisa mentored them to victory, so thank her.
There is an Urban/R&B chart in the UK actually
Have severals _/_/_/ stupid h**!
Your comments are so unecessary b*tch!
Great job girls! #RealMusic
They could have scored many more hits had Dawn chosen not to leave. The royalty checks now go to the real En Vogue: Cindy and Terry.
It’s sad that SWV and TLC can make it happen again in 2013, even with Left Eye passed on. Yet En Vogue can’t with all four ladies still alive, and are pulling each other’s weave off in court.
I’m very amused at the fact that Dawn is praising herself on twitter about not being irrelevant.
She does not deserve credit for En Vogue’s success. This is what happens when you defy the people who brought you to stardom, her car breaking down in the middle of the freeway.
I so love this song… Rough Copy I love too
