Per the newly published Hot 100, ‘Blood’ blasts #53 to #1 on the count, thanks largely to the arrival of the elaborate video for its Lamar assisted remix.
Indeed, in the tracking week following the clip’s arrival, the release clocked up a whopping 18.1 million U.S. streams, with 99 percent of its streaming activity from VEVO on YouTube clicks of its official video.
On the sales front, the track amassed a gargantuan 385,000 downloads over the last seven days (up 721 percent).
The digital love had a positive effect on radio too, with the song increasing to 57 million all-format audience impressions.
An impressive feat in itself, the success of the release is rendered even more so when placed into the context of Swift’s winning streak with the singles from current LP ‘1989.’ Because, of the four songs officially released, three have topped the Hot 100 – with only with ‘Style’ missing out on the fun. And even then, that capped off at more than respectable #6.
The slayage is real.
For Compton MC Lamar, ‘Blood’ becomes his first chart-topping single. Both of his major label albums, ‘good kid, M.A.A.D City’ and ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ occupied the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 upon release.

‘Mama’ enjoyed a 13 percent gain to 112,000 downloads sold within the tracking week and rose to 74 million audience impressions on radio – up 13 percent.
The track is Minaj’s 12th Hot 100 top 10 overall, extending her record among female rappers; Missy Elliott ranks second with nine. For Guetta, it’s his sixth.

(btw- I know Kendrick made her use that fire beat b/c the original would not have even made it into the top 20 if you ask me. She gets all of this success from radio and not her voice.
