Having delivered one of the most danceable songs of the year, ‘Somebody’ singer Natalie La Rose seems keen to prove that she’s more than a one trick chanteuse.
During a recent promotional run in the UK, the performer – who earned a Billboard top 10 with her first ever single – opted to tackle John Legend‘s ‘Ordinary People’ for BBC Radio 1xtra’s Live Lounge.
Watch below as the Flo Rida protégé showcases the different tones and textures of her voice…
By means means a Mariah or Whitney, yet it’s still refreshing to see a new singer actually be able to…sing.
In an industry that continues to engineer models with mics, Ms. La Rose excites us because of the talent she brings to the table pre the machine kicking in.
I’m surprised and impressed that she chose that song in particular to cover. I would’ve never envisioned that happening. To be completely honest, “Ordinary People” is a much better song than “All of Me” and it should’ve been #1 on the Hot 100 instead of the latter.
Yes boo I knew she could sing. Come on Natalie its time to bring on single #2
She is from the Netherlands as am i so i should be cheering her on and support her …but honestly i dont think she is special or good…and coming up with a sampled song doesnt do it for me..especially as your first single…i dont think she gone last that long to be honest…and its sad i mean id love to see someone from my country make it..but only if they are good….like michiel huisman and carice van houten 2 dutch actors who made it in the states
Here’s what the A$AP mob member, whose last album made it to number one in the States and number 7 here, says in one verse on the track Better Things:
I swear that b**** Rita Ora got a big mouth,
Next time I see her might curse the b**** out.
Kicked the b**** out once cause she bitched out,
Spit my kids out, j****d up all in her mouth and made the b**** bounce.
Guess Calvin and rob were right about oral
Okay time for her to roll with the big dogs.
She got what it takes to become the Rihanna who can sing live and who can dance.
Amazing! I wish people wouldn’t judge so hard off one single. Somebody was built for the clubs and radios, not to show case vocals. Not every artist feels the need to do that. Natalie can clearly sing. She has what it takes: singing, dancing, great performer, model, and songwriter. People said Katy Perry was a one hit wonder and look at her now. People thought Meghan Trainor would be a one hit wonder too but the way her album is selling I don’t think that will happen either. Lets just wait and see.
Nice covering the song
Decent.
