‘Clueless’ Creator Confirms Remake

The creator of the hit 90s movie ‘Clueless‘ has announced that she is to reboot the project this year.

The movie is loosely based on the Jane Austen classic ‘Emma’ and follows the life of a superficial girl named Cher Horowitz. Its success saw it spawn a supporting TV series which ran for three seasons on ABC and UPN where it found a sister show and crossover collaborator in the Brandy Norwood-led ‘Moesha.’

Now, the series is to return…as a musical.

Vogue reports:

Clueless, the musical has been confirmed by the film’s director, Amy Heckering.”I’ve written the, what they call the book and it’s a jukebox musical,” Heckering revealed to Entertainment Tonight, also disclosing that Kristin Hanggi, director of Broadway hit Rock of Ages (which enjoyed a six-year stint) will direct the new stage show, while Dodger Theatricals, responsible for Jersey Boys, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Into the Woods will produce it.

Interest in the series was reignited recently when the rapper Iggy Azalea paid tribute to it with the visual for her smash hit single ‘Fancy.’

Lol!! Clueless was the show low key for me. Stacy Dash was hot then and never aged after.
