As reported earlier this week, Mariah Carey is still trying to revive recent single ‘Infinity’ and has called on Justin Bieber, French Montana, and T.I. to help administer some much needed CPR.
No word yet on what Mimi plans to do with the track, but what is certain is that it’s now arrived via TMZ.
Titled ‘Why You Mad? (Infinity Remix)’, the revised version of the track features verses from all of the aforementioned and new vocals from Mariah too. The production has received an update via Eric Hudson as well.

Mariah will always be a favorite of mine, but this remix is a perfect example of why fans should stop defending Mariah’s artistic choices as though she can do no wrong. There is no reason whatsoever to make a track like this unless there is something that Mariah is trying desperately to prove. She’s making too many decisions for herself and they aren’t very good ones; it’s doing more harm than good. I wish she would just stop if she’s not willing to give up more control.
Since y’all keep bringing up Janet: her single is doing exactly what it was supposed to. R&B fans are extremely loyal to those who stick to the genre and don’t try to appeal to fickle pop fans who drop artists after one single.
Even if her album sells 80K first week that is enough for a #1 debut in 2015 where only one album has went platinum so far (Drake’s “mixtape” just did it yesterday, was at 998K last week) and maybe five albums MAX will go platinum in 2015 (Meghan Trainor is at 800K+, Luke Bryan will probably do it, Dr. Dre if his album isn’t frontloaded).

IF MARIAH DIDN’T PACK IN 80 ALBUMS BETWEEN 90 – 99, SHE WOULDN’T HAVE ANY EDGE OVER ANY OF HER PEERS. ALL OF THEM HAVE BEEN HUGELY POPULAR AT THEIR PEAK AND COULD HAVE ACCOMPLISHED DOING THIS BY ACCUMULATION. MARIAH DRIED UP IN THE LATE 90’S, NEEDED A COMEBACK BY 2005 & FLOPPED THE REST OF HER 2ND DECADE. IF SHE SPACED OUT THOSE ALBUMS U KNOW DAMN WELL SHE WOULDN’T HAVE SEEN SOME OF THOSE NUMBERS. SHE DID THE SAME THING BRITNEY DID FROM 99-01, WHICH IS DROP BACK TO BACK. BRITNEY GAINED 70 MILLION IN THOSE 3 YEARS & THEN SAW AVERAGE TO BASIC SALES. ONLY THING IS THAT BRITENY WAS 10X MORE INTERESTING THAN MARIAH AS AN ARTISTS.

Okay, as a fan of Mariah’s, I will say that I am slightly embarrassed by this. Okay. Fine, I admit it. No need to pretend. I think that the whole thing is tacky and unnecessary. If we were to get a remix, I would have preferred a more Hi-NRG one with only her on the track.
That being said, I am seriously getting my shits and giggles @ Janet’s stans rushing this comment section with their laughably nervy commentary. Seriously, what day is this? She comes back with some ultra boring, utterly forgettable, ironically titled snoozefest that hobbles on one foot to a sixty-something on the charts (thanks in part to its featuring a premiere hip hop star of the moment) and you think its time for balloons and sparklers. Has Janet’s career been in the doldrums for that long that you actually get a swelled head from this very mediocre performance? It’s very sad, actually. For the last 10+ years, Ms. Jackson has been carrying around a flashlight, looking high and low for some kind of opening that will allow her back into the world of music after she was unceremoniously escorted out as a result of her exposing herself on national television. She hasn’t been a force in music since ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ was all the rage. During this same time period, Mariah has sold 15-20 million albums and has had eight top 10/top 20 hits. In fact, didn’t Janet try to copy off Mariah with her album Discipline? Signing with the same label, working with the same producers. Only she didn’t quite get her own MIMI from that outing, did she? So you, my dears, are in no position to posture, giggle or even offer advice. You should be the most humble fan base around, actually. Because few one prominent pop stars have fallen off quite as hard as Ms. Jackson.
But back to topic: as a Mariah fan, once more I will say that I’m not feeling this at all. But I am glad that she’s back in the studio again. We all know that when Mariah gets in front of a mic and behind a control board, it doesn’t just stop at one song. Looking forward to her first full length studio album with her brand new Sony contract. It’s undoubtedly in the works right now, while this unfortunate remix is served as merely something to snack on the interim.
One name @Always0609 Jermaine Dupri was her problem and Janet didn’t copy Mariah if that being said then you mightiest say Mariah copied Janet by getting signed st Virgin Records back in the late 90’s only to get force to leave because of her antics of a breakdown and get paid $125 million to do so.
The entire problem with the song in the first place was the hook and the production. That’s still the problem no matter how many rappers u throw on it.

Mariah choose not to take care of her voice & purposely doesn’t want to do mature music. I think she kinda suffers from the Michael Jackson “Peter Pan Syndrome”. The reason as to why she’s probably shying away from Walter A… Is due to her voice no longer being able to carry those power ballads anymore. But, I maybe wrong. Just like with Michael Jackson. He was a child m*******, master manipulator & drug addict. That’s like the lowest of the lows. But, I’ve learned to separate the art from the person. And, with Whitney Houston. She choose crack/cocaine over her own God given talents & daughter. I think she was even smoking drugs with Bobbi K, and was using that boy Nick Gordon (and Ray J) as drug runners. It’s extremely sad, to see our favorite artist lose their way… But, that’s life. Nothing is perfect, and will NEVER be perfect. Mariah’s music is amazing. I don’t really care about her current stint right now. But, overall her catalog is one of the best. Love your honesty! It’s refreshing to see a fan accept their favs for their faults and not be delusional. I like Mariah too and while I don’t care for this song, I’m not going to discredit everything she’s achieved. Can’t Let Go is my ALL-TIME favourite song by her. Should’ve been #1 tbh.
We’ve been getting emancipation Mimi since 2005 and that’s the real problem. Despite what crazy stans say,every artist in the history of music has had a peak and a decline, it happens to the best of them.The big divas of the 40’s-90’s all prove this. Mariah is legend and has earned her respect but this remix is terrible as is majority of her post 2001 or 02 music minus TEOM. The same thing happened to Mary J,made her comback with an excellent album and has been following the same formula for the last 4 Albums. The End results for both have resulted in New career lows. Janet fans are delusional though. Janet is not a blueprint,the blueprint is Diana Ross, janet’s just a model version that could dance better,more of a footnote in the blueprint chapter, but not a whole chapter. While #63 on the hot100 is good for someone who hasn’t made an album in so long,it’s going to take more than that to get a gold album in this climate,you’d think after 3 flop albums,along with all those flop compilation albums in a row her fans would be humble by now,Janet’s technically has 6 flop albums and that’s not even counting the compilation albums. I respect Mariah as a legend but no ma’am to this remix! It’s quite clear this is one of those collaborations that were simply put together for convenience and it shows in it’s horrible outcome. First of all, Justin is hands down one of THE BIGGEST frauds the music business has seen in the last 10 years. His vocal talent is non-existent and his tone is so wooden with no dimension or range. Nasality at it’s most nauseating. French and T.I need to go sit down somewhere in 2K15. So you have Mariah, whose voice is way past it’s rich-sounding glory days, French Montana’s lazy a** delivery, Bieber’s dry voice and T.I’s presence on this overcrowded track. MESS!
Janet fans DO need to humble themselves. No one who stans for someone who has had as long a dry spell as hers should be cocky enough to use her name to slight another singer whose decline hasn’t been as long or as steep. Mariah is doing poorly right now, but overall she has been much more successful. Mariah eventually rebounded from Glitter, but Janet has yet to recover from the Superbowl.

Sam makes it seem like Janet is slaying the music scene or making some type of major impact when this comeback has been tired af. Yall always doing these hectic write-ups on Mariah but when the other divas fail, the endless articles are absent. Mariah has been doing remixes forever. It’s clearly not meant to be some huge deal.
It’s actually my least favorite MC remix she’s ever released, but with a little cleaning up and taking majority of the artists off the track, it could be a decent track.
