The diva has the world waiting with bated breath for details on the set, the follow-up to 2008’s ‘Discipline.’
And with her ‘Unbreakable Tour’ set to kick off in 12 days and current single ‘No Sleeep’ soaring on Adult Contemporary radio, it was only a matter of time before more tea on the LP was poured.

Multiple sources confirm that during an interview with Donnie Simpson on radio last night, the project’s executive producer Terry Lewis revealed that the set is due for release “around October.”
The hitmaker’s statements come as retailer F.Y.E’s in-store pre-ordering system was updated this week with a listing for a Janet album titled ‘Unbreakable’ – with a store date of October 2nd.
Of course, the 49-year-old has insisted that official details will come from her lips.
However, the correlation between the two occurrences above is difficult to ignore.
If indeed dropping on October 2nd, we envision a staggered release of sorts – with perhaps the digital coming before retail.
Why, you may wonder?
Well, upon the debut of ‘No Sleeep,’ a highly placed exec at BMG (who Jackson has teamed up with to release and market the project) confirmed with firm certainty that the album would arrive before the September 30th deadline of the 2016 Grammy’s.
Given how close the alleged October date is to the cut-off, it’s entirely logical for the LP to impact digitally a week prior to ensure eligibility and hit stores physically the following week. Adding fuel to the fire, Janet has no ‘Unbreakable’ shows after September 30th until October 9th. Album promo window, perhaps?
Time will tell.

If true then I think she has a chance at a #1 debut. Everyone releasing that month is currently announcing their albums and so far no other major artist is releasing that day, though that might change.
I really cannot wait for this album to drop. Something tells me it will be her best since TVR. Janet definitely have my coins. I’m almost at the point where I’m starting not to care how much I spend on her.

Well I’ve been a fan a long time and I knew this album was coming by September 30th. I think the digital version will drop September 30th and the physical on October 2nd. Also, I think she is cooking up something because that is almost 6 weeks away. Expect the real 1st single to come soon. I bet she already shot the video and did both videos around the same time. I’m ready. Slay me from Fiji to Iceland.

The single did what it was supposed to: promote the tour. I laugh at people who say the single failed when it did make the Hot 100 and went #1 on the AC chart. Janet did not perform or promote it at all. The execs at BMG said they were surprised at the success of the single because it was only meant as an introduction to the era. Now sit down watch Janet slay these arenas sweetie.
Whenever a single doesn’t do well enough, delusional fans try to act like it wasn’t a ‘real’ and was just some promo thing. No Sleeep was sent to radio, has two videos, features a popular rapper, and most of all is commercially available to the public for purchase. It most certainly *is* the ‘real’ first single. It just wasn’t that successful.
Well let me put this in a language you can understand. She was never planning to release her album with “No Sleeep” as the lead single.
When I bought concert tix they said the album would be received by 9/30 so this all makes sense. What the real question though is what the hell is the deal with touring prior to even announcing any album deets. Fortunately her tour is doing well depite that fact but it was definitely a risk. Cant imagine how much better the tour would do had she actually been promoting it outside of a few Facebook posts. Guess the JanStans are out in force this era.
No Sleeep has significantly grown on me, especially after I played it in my car with the bass up – the background is reminiscent to a chopped and screwed version of Blackstreet’s ‘No Diggity’
