“Captain America: Civil War” is set to reign supreme at the box office and potentially set a new record in the process.
The film is set to be another notch in the string of box office hits for Disney, with previous hits including the just-released “Jungle Book” and instant classic “Zootopia.”
The latter film earned 883.8 million globally, while the former earned 103.6 million in its opening weekend.

Revealing the action flick had the potential to cross the 200 million mark for its opening weekend, Variety reported:
“If it does reach that number, “Captain America: Civil War” will be only the fourth film in history, behind “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Jurassic World” and the first “Avengers” movie, to breach the $200 million barrier in the opening weekend.”
It was also noted that while hype for the movie is at a universal high and that interest should rise in the coming weeks, no official track source has declared the film will indeed hit the 200 million mark in its opening weekend.
Still, given its rival “Batman v. Superman’s” disappointing performance, it wouldn’t be a stretch to believe audiences would be more interested in seeing a more familiar, cohesive, and critically acclaimed superhero movie.

They were ready to destroy it unless it was a masterpiece or something on The Dark Knight level. Different standards. They don´t ask for much from Marvel flicks, but trash many others. At least tehre are real critics out tehre still, like Mark Kermode for example, who may not like soemthing like BvS either, but he definitely doesn´t kiss Marvel´s ass either. I eman, there´s no way tehre are such big differences between those two universes, no way, at the end of teh day none of them are masperpieces in teh art of film making.

Which shows the total bias going on with blockbusters and Marvel right now. BvS is obviously not terrible material, definitely not as bad as to get averages as terrible as pure crap like Battleship lol
I´m tired of these more “familiar” comic book s*** Marvel offers that seems to get a pass for all its basicness I guess. If you play it safe you cannot fail, that´s for sure. But your product will continue to be basic. Disney´s hands are too powerful and no film with them behind gets trashed no matter what, unlike many other franchises which do get trashed at any opportunity. Marvel flicks including Avengers or Winter Soldier have generic plots and very little to offer that feels special. So I really don´t get it. Well, at least obviously these super praised by fanboys movies are never taken seriously for awards and all that. But still, they are overrated.
Oh and btw, what a misleading headline. It is not expected to break any record then (after the forgettable stuff that was Age of Ultron there shouldn´t be any reason for that).

Yay another kid oriented flick from the MCU of course it gonna break records they are so predictable and formulaic I largely prefers the more adult theme of DC and critics can continue to suck disneys d*** . +$800 on the second DCEU movie is huge they already made 1.4 with the first two movie and are bound to make with Slaying Squad coming DC will be just fne
