Ed Sheeran is no stranger to the Billboard Hot 100 history books, a truth only cemented by the mega success of his latest album, ‘Divide,’ and its spawned singles.
In addition to being the first artist to debut two singles in the top 10 of the tally with his hits ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Castle on the Hill’, he later became the first and only artist to notch 33 weeks in the top 10 when ‘Shape’ accomplished the feat.
Now, despite hitting #1 in December 2017 with his single, ‘Perfect’ (click here to read more on that), the song has demonstrated impressive staying power in or near the Hot 100’s topmost dectet of positions. Rebounding to #9 this week, the re-entry gifts the tune its 26th total week in the top 10. Find out why this is big news for Sheeran and his beloved #Sheerios inside:
“…makes history in the top 10, as his former six-week leader “Perfect” re-enters the tier, rebounding from No. 12 to No. 9. With the rise, the song spends its 26th total week in the top 10, becoming only the 10th single in the Hot 100’s 59-year history to log at least half a year in the bracket.
Plus, with Sheeran’s 2017 No. 1 “Shape of You” holding the record with 33 weeks in the Hot 100’s top 10. Here is a look at the 10 singles that have each spent at least 26 weeks, or a half-year, in the Hot 100’s top 10:

Hot 100 This Week
He’s the epitome of vanilla stealing from black culture. I want this ugly gnome gone.
Someone is bitter. Perfect isn’t black at all, it’s a classic song. Just deal with it, his voice also stands out.
He sounds like a poor man’s JT and even JT is just a poor man’s MJ. You tried and failed ?♂️
I dislike him so much
What history? Is he doing Adele numbers or something? I´m tired of all these fake pshit.
