The 2018 Soul Train Awards, taped earlier this month in Las Vegas, saw some of Urban music’s finest go head-to-head for the show’s coveted trophies.

With the likes of top names and newcomers going for the prize, including Bruno Mars and H.E.R. leading the nominations tally, the competition was steep.  Now that the show is over find out who picked up which awards in which categories…

Best New Artist– Daniel Caesar
Soul Train Certified Award– Ledisi
Best R&B/Soul Male Artist– Bruno Mars
Best R&B/Soul Female Artist– Ella Mai
Video of the Year– Bruno Mars ft. Cardi B. – “Finesse (Remix)”
Best Gospel/Inspirational Award– Lecrae
Album/Mixtape of the Year– H.E.R. – “H.E.R.”
Rhythm & Bars Award (Formerly Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year)– Drake – “In My Feelings”
Song of the Year– Ella Mai – “Boo’d Up”
The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award– “Boo’d Up” – Written By: Ella Howell, Dijon McFarlane, Joelle James, Larrance Dopson (Ella Mai)
Best Dance Performance– Ciara – “Level Up”
Best Collaboration Performance– Daniel Caesar ft. H.E.R. – “Best Part”

    Hold up, did Janelle Monàe even get nominated?!

    The community has been sleeping on dirty computer.

    “Boo’d up” is a jam, and i recognize that it finally brought some female rnb back into the mainstream top 40 (I myself bought Ella’s EP and enjoy it) but song writing wise “boo…” ain’t s*** up against the cuts on Janelle’s album.
