Lady Gaga is arguably at the apex of her career thus far following her historic win at the Oscars on Sunday night.
Now, the after-glow of her triumph may very well benefit ‘Shallow’ – the song that secured her her first ever Academy award.

As at writing, the Bradley Cooper collaboration from ‘A Star Is Born’ is battling it out with Ariana Grande‘s ‘7 Rings’ for the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
Following a chemistry driven showing with Cooper on the ABC broadcast, the song shot up to #1 on the iTunes tally and has maintained a lead to the tune of 80% over its nearest competitor.
On the streaming front, ‘Shallow’ has blasted back into the top ten of streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
It’s generated what looks to be a perfect storm that could see it hit over 145,000 in sales – which would make a re-peak for the song (which to date reached #5 on the Hot 100) a certainty and #1 very plausible.
Comparatively, Grande’s streams are off the Richter, as is her radio play – the latter of which has long proven to be ‘Shallow’s Achilles’ heel.
Still, it’s all to play for. And with Gaga and Cooper’s performance already at the 10 million mark – they may very well have even more to celebrate come the end of the current tracking week.

Gaga is the comeback queen. I’ve never seen anyone snatch back their career in this manner.
But let’s be real, her career never was really in that much of a slump. People just wanted it to be. Her last album was number 1, won Grammys, went platinum, was critically acclaimed, had a supporting tour and she did the Super Bowl. I’m trying to see where her career was just this down in the dumps ordeal where she was struggling. That’s kind of a reach, she’s been consistently successful
I honestly truly agree. the only time she was a little low was during artpop.. Joanne kind of cured that for her as a whole era. sure the singles weren’t the strongest but she did a lot during the moment to keep on shining. before artpop and after she’s been fine.
Her career never died and I knew it was not going to die. She´s not Katy Perry. It seemed like it because of hating and absurd pop masses backlashes during a certain time. They wanted to end her so badly but couldn´t. She knew what she had to do, let pure pop a little bit behind and for for the prestige. She´s been incredibly verstaile in just 10 years. Rarely seen.
I think in terms of popularity she definitely had a slump after Artpop but she wasn’t as visible for a while. This is certainly an inspiring comeback in my opinion

Why hasn´t this song been #1 ALREADY? They really ffucked up billboard charts. SHALLOW clarly is the biggest hit of the last 6 months and has also been #1 on itunes on countless occasions all these months. Probably the only song that has left a mark since October. Meanwhile all the basic Ariana stuff going #1 now? Who remembers those songs. They truly murdered the lists with the streaming pshit.
