With assistance from music’s heaviest hitters (Nipsey Hussle, Beyonce, Jay Z, Big Sean, John Legend, Cardi B, Meek Mill, and many more), DJ Khaled’s newest project – ‘Father of Asahd’ – was once believed to be a shoo-in for the top of the Billboard 200 upon its arrival. A feat not uncommon for the 43-year-old’s collaboration-heavy projects as both of ‘Asahd’s predecessors – 2016’s ‘Major Key’ and 2017’s ‘Grateful’ respectively – bowed atop the tally.
Yet, even after adding padding to the product’s first week sales via a merchandise bundle deal, Khaled’s effort still trailed behind fellow Hip Hop star Tyler, the Creator.

As reported here, Tyler – after multiple “swings at the bat” courtesy of a string (six to be exact) of critically acclaimed albums over the last decade – was predicted by industry analyst early reads to see his new LP, ‘IGOR,’ top this week’s charts. With both ‘IGOR’ and ‘Asahd’s debut tracking weeks in our rearview, Nielsen has officially declared the former chart champion.

It is biased to analyze these two artist’s sales without including the FLOP C-Error’s Stretch Marks album which flopped badly and debuted at #87 despite all the tgj promo and live performances / videos

It’s just as bad to ignore beyonce’s “Homecoming” which flopped with 14k sales after oversaturating the media with promo & a Netflix special that claims to have had 1 million viewers in the first day. I mean, since we’re taking about FLOPS.

Tyler has great sales especially for not having a hit. Khaled does great for a Dj because he uses big named artists to help with his projects.
Tyler’s album by far is better but just in sales but quality. The other one is based on big names that honestly felt unneeded features that scream attempt at scoring a forgettable hit of today’s sad standards
Khaled is not an artist or even a produce. He’s just a name that uses actual artist to sell records. His albums should just be called VARIOUS ARTIST.
