After thrilling fans over the summer by playing assistant on Ro James‘ sultry tune, ‘Magic,’ singer/actor Luke James had the Germany-born crooner return the favor (alongside BJ The Chicago Kid) for his new song, ‘Go Girl.’
A 70’s-inspired cut dripping with elements of Soul and Funk to boot, ‘Girl’ is the latest taste from Luke’s forthcoming effort ‘To Feel Love/d’ (reportedly due on digital shelves in 2020). Taking to our friends at Billboard, he spoke glowingly of the collaboration stating:
“It’s a celebratory song that I created with two of my best buds in the business, Ro and BJ. ‘Go Girl’ is a feeling, an unconventional vibration about a specific woman. It’s perfectly freeing… as if it came out of a ‘90s classic love song or film.”
Listen inside and tell us if you agree:
The title should be “1999”.
Weird song but i liked it at the same time.
His delivery is very ‘channel orange.’
Luke James can sing his ass off, BUT he hasn’t figured out who he is artistically after all these years. Because of that he will continue to fade into the background. Ro James and BJ are both amazing artists.
Total truth! I loved I Want You and Options, but I’m not clear at all on who he is as an artist. Though, he’s an awesome talent.
issa Nope
I agree that “I Want You” was the perfect lane for Luke. This sounds more like a Miguel song. I liked Luke way back when he was Luke & Q.
