Cynthia Erivo takes vocal flight on ‘Stand Up ‘ – a spirited original song from upcoming movie ‘Harriet.’
The Grammy, Emmy, and Tony winner takes on the lead role of activist Harriet Tubman in the Focus Features film, which arrives on November 1st.
‘Stand’ – which was co-penned by Erivo alongside Joshuah Brian Campbell – has been unwrapped ahead of the release of the film and its soundtrack (which drops on the same day).
Already tipped for Oscar success (which, if it achieves, will see Cynthia become an EGOT), take a listen to the cut below…
Stunning!
Somebody wants that oscar for best original song.
Beyonce ain’t winning for spirit tho, that’s for sure.
Somebody tell Beyonce… brown skin girls are not dark skin or light skin.. then what is black skin?????
Black skin comes in multiple shades,
Movie is gonna flop since she’s cancelled
Why?
Because she has said a lot of negative s*** about African Americans .
Because she made disparaging comments about African Americans on Twitter some years ago. Black Twitter found it insulting that she’s playing an African American hero in the same breath.
Nah, not that Oprah put her weight (no pun intended) behind the movie. Mammy Oprah to the rescue!
