George Zimmerman feels his character has been defamed by the family of the unarmed 17-year-old African American male, Trayvon Martin, he killed in 2012.
For remedy, he’s suing for a whopping $100 million.

An attorney representing George Zimmerman has announced a lawsuit against the parents of Trayvon Martin and others.
According to a release from Larry Klayman, the lawsuit, filed against Martin’s parents, attorney Benjamin Crump, several prosecutors, the State of Florida and others seeks $100 million in damages.
In the lawsuit, Zimmerman alleges that the prosecution’s key witness in his 2013 murder trial, Rachel Jeantel, was an imposter and fake witness. The lawsuit also alleges defamation by the Martin family and Crump.

Zimmerman rose to public consciousness in 2012 when he shot and killed Martin, an unarmed teenager walking home from a convenience store. He was acquitted in July 2013.
The newly announced $100 million suit not only includes accusations of defamation of character, but also references information about the case that was included in a documentary. The defendants include Martin’s parents, their attorney, three state prosecutors, the State of Florida, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
As of time reported, none of the named defendants have responded with an official statement.

You’re speaking of double jeopardy, he’s been tried and the jury acquitted him. We all know he’s guilty though.
Respectfully, I know he can’t be tried again and that’s not what I was saying. I said it’s going to bring the evidence back to light and prove to us that he’s guilty (i.e. in the court of public opinion).
Karma is a very funny thing, that’s exactly what might happen. I can totally see this backfiring on this POS and getting him convicted of new crimes.
He didn’t have a great reputation before he murdered Trayvon. He had a rap sheet. He confessed to shooting Trayvon. He went on to promote himself publicly, taking pictures, signing autographs, reaping money from supporters through go fund me accounts and even selling the gun he killed Trayvon with. I’m not sure how the family of the victim defamed him when he profited from being a murderer.
That’s exactly why this suit won’t see the light of day.
