Per Deadline, the star – real name Kiari Cephus – has joined the cast of STXfilms drama ‘American Sole.’
He’ll appear alongside previously announced cast Pete Davidson, O’Shea Jackson Jr, and Camila Mendes.
Directed by Ian Edelman and produced by Kevin Hart, the film follows two twenty-somethings with towering college debt who use the fast cash of after-market sneaker reselling to achieve their American dream. When they run out of money, they only have one way forward.
Word is that Offset will take on the role of a computer engineer who becomes essential to the story.
Speaking on the gig, the rapper said:
“This is my first feature film as an actor. After doing NCIS, I knew I wanted to do more acting. Landing this role in American Sole is dope. Not only do I get to star in the movie, but I get to bring my skills to the table as the curator and Executive Producer for the soundtrack. I’m bringing my world to the big screen. I hope the world is ready. “
Success and sustainability in today’s climate is about diversifying the hustle, which is exactly what Offset is doing here. Kudos.
He can speak? Like actual words?
