It’s finally here.
Lana Del Rey has unleashed her long-awaited album, ‘Blue Banisters.’
The project was first announced back in April of this year, shortly after her ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’ album was released.
However, the project was initially slated for a July release before it was pushed back to October.
Prior to the album’s release, Del Rey shared various songs from it. In May, she shared ‘Blue Banisters,’ ‘Text Book,’ and ‘Wildflower Wildfire.’
Last month, she continued the anticipation for the project by sharing the song ‘Arcadia.’

I seriously have no idea what her team is doing. She’s been releasing music on top of each era, which dilutes it’s full impact. Ever since Norman Fu**in* Rockwell, I’ve been trying to enjoy one era at a time.
I miss the days when artists truly promoted an ALBUM as an era— snippets of songs for hype, major award shows and festivals, radio play, videos, commercials, interviews, SNL and other late night performances, new merch, pop up shows….and eventually tours. It was a sin to spend your effort on less than at 3 songs before moving on to a new era of music. Those were the days!
In all fairness, NFR! was released August 2019 and Chemtrails didn’t arrive until March this year (unless you count the poetry album) and it’s pretty obvious she’s not bothered about commercial success much anymore as she does one TV performance like she’ll be doing tonight on Colbert and then that’s it. She just puts the music out for the fans at this point.
Totally 100% agree! You said it perfectly. I have the same perspective. An album was an era, sometimes connected to their personal life in that moment. It felt more authentic and real. The hype from the singles, literally on edge for the full songs to release, the late night shows. Britney Spears team achieved this perfectly in the 90s and 2000s.
Today it all feels so rushed, popping songs out like pop tarts out of a toaster!

Britney and the “t*** acts” were the first to really rush albums. And now we see just how much artist like Britney have been truly exploited during those eras. One or two years between albums does not allow the material to really breathe. Before the late 90s and 2000s artist like Janet waited 4 years between albums.
Times change. Music used to be around the same length and speed of release in the 1960s if you know your history. Maybe one day things will go back to how we remember.
She just be dropping albums.
Is she trytrying to fulfil her contract with her label and leave?
She said in an interview when NFR! dropped that she couldn’t stop writing and was working on a ton more music.
Then there’s the hundreds upon hundreds of unreleased songs of her’s that have leaked. It’s like she’s constantly writing. She keeps us fed, that’s for sure 🤣
A reviewer for The Guardian who mentioned Lana’s “lockdown weight gain” in regards to lyrics on the song Black Bathing Suit has already had her email and home address doxed on Twitter.
