Designed to “honor media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues,” the GLAAD Media Awards is set to carry on its annual tradition as underscored by the unveiling of the official nominations list for its 33rd annual ceremony.
Announced live on GLAAD’s TikTok page Wednesday (January 19), the nominees represent LGBTQ musical and acting performers and shows as well as journalists, documentarians, and more.
“There are more nominees this year than ever before, highlighting a growing landscape of LGBTQ visibility, and serving as a reminder to the critical role that film, television, music, journalism, and other forms of media can play in growing LGBTQ acceptance in the face of ongoing attacks against our community,” said GLAAD president & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis in a statement.
With recognizable names like Lil Nas X, Elton John, Halsey, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ FX’s ‘Pose,’ and more among this year’s leading nominees, look inside to see the full list.
