Published: Thursday 10th Feb 2022 by Ryan

With mere days to go until she takes the stage at the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, Mary J. Blige is already declaring it one of the most significant events in music history.

Full story below…

Speaking to ‘Good Morning America’ about what fans can expect, she said:

“Man this thing is the most epic thing in music, like in hip-hop, R&B history, this is — man L.A. is never ever gonna be the same. I watched the rehearsals — watching each person’s performance, I had goosebumps watching it.”

“Just know this. It’s some history, man. It’s a celebration how far you know hip-hop has come, how far R&B has come, how far you know just you know, music and our culture.”

Blige will be one of the many performers at this year’s Super Bowl. She will also be joined by Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar.

However, prior to her taking the stage, she will be releasing her ‘Good Morning Gorgeous’ album on February 11. The album will feature Anderson .Paak, Fivio Foreign, Dave East, and Usher.

  1. What would Whitney do February 10, 2022

    Dr Dre can’t be uncensored so I don’t think it will be. I love Mary Blige but her super bowl show won’t epic Janet Jackson in history

    I LOVE MJB!!! And this may be a career defining moment for her on a personal level. But the Super Bowl is NOT the bench mark for how successful Hiphop is. Hiphop and R&B doesn’t need the NFL to validate us. She needs to fall back on the hype.

        Well she’s pretty much confirming American Football is a Caucasian ORGANIZATION banking off mostly Black Men while elevating a WM to Superstar status. For the record, this isn’t a win for the culture since the NFL players have been silenced.

        Hip-Hop/R&B has only given “artists” MORE exposure. It doesn’t help assist Entrepreneurs within’ the Community.

        I stand by my statement! Performing at the Super Bowl is NOT a “we made it” moment for Hiphop.

      @Ughhhh

      Yes Mainstream Hip-Hop/R&B is DEAD. Many of the artists are openly consigning racism for the bag.

    • True Tea February 10, 2022

      You don’t even know what a sellout is hun.

      A sellout is someone who is now downplaying what they originally stood for. Most ppl are sellouts regardless of race. Loyalty is scarce.

      It is what it is.
