Moments ago, the NFL, new sponsor Apple Music, and Roc Nation (who co-produce the show), jointly announced the Bajan belle as the act to snag the coveted slot.
Easily one of the world’s biggest stages, the Halftime Show has created iconic moments from some of music’s most celebrated names such as Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, and Lady Gaga.
Ample anticipation has surrounded the mogul’s long-awaited 9th studio album, her first since 2016’s ‘Anti’.
In snagging a platform as gargantuan in size as the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Rih arguably has the potent framework in place to mount a seismic musical comeback. And many expect her to use it for exactly that.
Interestingly, the megastar reportedly turned down the gig in 2020 in a show of solidarity with Colin Kaepernick.
The Super Bowl 2023 takes place on February 12, 2023 live from the State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
