October 31 brings with it the premiere of ‘Underwater,’ a romantic thriller podcast starring award-winning singer-actors Alexandra Shipp and Jason Derulo.
Telling the story of how the foundation of a couple’s romance is rocked by the unveiling of secrets and lies during their stay at a high-end island resort, the eight-part scripted series – which also stars Beau Bridgland, Donis Leonard Jr., Michael Dearie, Aneesha DuBois, Andrew Frankel, Cameron J. Wright, and more – saw its first two episodes launch on Halloween on all major podcast-streaming platforms including Apple Music.
“As an artist, I’ve always believed that music and storytelling go hand in hand, shaping emotions and connecting people in unique ways. Podcasting provides an opportunity to delve deeper into the storytelling experience, and ‘Underwater’ intertwines new music with all of the drama, thrills and romance of the story itself,” said Derulo who also contributed new music to the venture.
Shipp shared the sentiment.
“Delving into the world of audio storytelling has been an exciting new chapter for me. I’m grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the immensely talented Jason Derulo as well as the teams at Clamor, Temple Hill and Interval Presents, to bring this project to life. I can’t wait for listeners to immerse themselves in the world of ‘Underwater’ and experience the power of this thrilling romantic series,” she said.
New episodes will be released weekly on Tuesdays following the launch.
