MJ is the greatest but CB has more gifts is all we’re saying.”
Doubling down on his stance, Tank (born Durrell Babbs) set the internet aflame this week when he not only doubled down on the stance but also elaborated on why Breezy is better.

Most, if not all, would disagree with Tank. But why the comparison? MJ was a magical anomaly for the generation he served, his impact on music will be felt for generations to come. CB can’t compete with that or undo it, nor should he try to. He can only attempt to be as impactful on his generation. We, as blacks, should respect and preserve the legacies of our icons more and not engage in these silly comparisons.

I like Chris but his followers overrate him to no end. He isn’t touching MJ in any level. MJ was a pioneer, a trailblazer. His impact was universal and still felt heavily 15 years after his death. Chris makes cool music for the moment but the cultural impact isn’t there.

Why do people get upset when it’s clear celebrities only talk like this for attention? The only part that’s true is Chris is more talented than people want to admit. How we determine what is or isn’t a classic is subjective. That’s why I’m suggesting you start with his sales and choose from there. His first two albums were certified 2x platinum before the RIAA started counting streams, and those albums produced six top 10 hits, any of which could be considered a classic.
