While his collaborative effort with Keri Hilson, ‘Number One’, failed to escalate pass #68 on the Billboard Hot 100, another song from R&B crooner R. Kelly has surfaced. The track, ‘Echo’, will feature on his upcoming album ‘Untitled’ which hits stores on December 1st.
This song is the business! As an advocate of ‘grown and sexy’ R&B, I have been wondering when Robert was going to drop a track like this to make me feel that familiar tingle in my spine. Vocally, lyrically and melodically sound from start to finish, this song has the potential to be a major hit across all formats. Artists like The-Dream and Ne-Yo have captured a lot of Kelly’s fanbase over the last couple of years, but, judging by this, the captain has finally come back to reclaim his ship. *Round of applause*

R. Kelly is finally doing him again and not following trends..
Not impressed…Is it me or has R. jocked The Dream’s sound. ‘Echo’ sounds an awful lot like a Dream cut to me…and a mediocre one at that.
Here’s the problem as I see it with R. Kelly…this guy has done it all. He’ s been the babymaker, the consummate performer, the inspirational artist, the R&B thug, the dance man, the social conscience guy..the everything. It’s going to be really hard for Kelly to find a niche that he hasn’t done to death. I think right now Kells is sounding tired. His last two albums have been ridiculously under-par. IMO, he hasn’t delivered really since “The Chocolate Factory”.
This song is just another in a long line as of late of the legend jocking the newbee sound, not the other way around. Kelly needs to recalibrate his career and sound, because the R&B lover man is being done by too many male artists today, and this song does nothing but ‘echo’ that nonsense.
