Bruno Mars is off to a fiery start with his latest album, ‘The Romantic.’
Long-awaited, the project serves as the crooner’s first solo body of work since 2016’s ’24K Magic.’
Preceded by the single ‘I Just Might,’ the nine-track LP has easily served as one of the year’s most highly anticipated releases, with first-week sales tallies in and all eyes on how tall the superstar towers with the project.
We now know more because the first-week predictions are here.
Full story below
According to Hits Daily Double, ‘The Romantic’ is set to launch at #1 on the Billboard 200 with first week sales in the ballpark of…
175,000
Not a shabby number by any account. And it would function as Mars’ first #1 debut.
However, should the figure hold, it would serve as Mars’s lowest opening since his debut album.
Here’s how his projects stack up Stateside:
Doo-Wops & Hooligans | 55,000 | #3
Unorthodox Jukebox | 192,000 | #2
25k Magic | 231,000 | #2
Could higher heights be on the cards as the week progresses? Stay tuned.
In the meantime, let us know…

FLOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭
Debuting at #1, such a flop.
I know some people will call this a flop, HOWEVWR, we have to take into account that this is only a NINE-TRACK PROJECT. Other artist make double discs or a 20-song project just to have a larger debut. Considering today’s music climate, I think he’s doing just fine. However, I’ll be real and say I was expecting a number that would be closer to 200K. Either way, congrats Bruno!
Excuses hahaha
This ninja took TEN years to craft NINE songs 😭 Lazy m***********. I guess he was too busy gambling and snorting coke to care lmao
Flop deserved
Well-deserved. In heavy rotation.💃
He’s never been a big first week artist and the promo lacked. This is decent but I did expect at least 250k. His albums always sell in the long run.
It’s a solid album but doesn’t offer anything new. It doesn’t tap into those feelings of 90’s pop/r&b nostalgia like his last solo album did. The energy just isn’t there.
wow. considering Die With a Smile is still charting, I thought he would do more but he’s been a steady seller so we’ll see how things are one year from now
