The announcement came via Instagram. “I had a perfect record 0-0-0, I took an L,” he wrote. “Now I’m 0-1-0. I’m training harder and I’m more focused.”
He revealed that he signed a contract for his next fight on August 23. The event is called “The Back to School Brawl.”
“I’m the headliner and I’m fighting at 215lbs for the light heavyweight title,” he said. “I got 3 months to train.”
In an accompanying video, Ray J claimed he has “5 to 10 more fights” with “the biggest fighters.”
The announcement comes days after his brutal knockout loss to Supa Hot Fire on May 23 at Adin Ross‘ Brand Risk 14 event in Las Vegas. Within 30 seconds of the second round, the comedian landed shots that sent Ray J to the canvas.
After the match, Ray J confronted Supa Hot Fire, claiming the two had a plan and that the knockout would cost them money. Ross later said his team would investigate whether a pre-existing agreement existed.
Two days after the match, Ray J checked himself into a hospital. Doctors investigated a potential concussion and an abnormal heart rate.
A knockout. A hospital visit. And now, five to ten more fights.
