Mystikal has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to a rape charge stemming from a 2022 case in Louisiana.

The Rap veteran, born Michael Lawrence Tyler, learned his fate during a court hearing on Tuesday, where the victim addressed the court and detailed the alleged assault.

The sentence follows the rapper’s guilty plea to third-degree rape last month as part of an agreement with prosecutors.

According to TMZ, the victim told the court that she was choked, punched, and forcibly raped inside the rapper’s Louisiana home in 2022. She urged the judge to impose the maximum possible sentence.

During proceedings, Mystikal reportedly addressed the court and stated:

“If I did that to you, I deserve the max sentence.”

The maximum penalty for the offense was 25 years. The judge ultimately sentenced the ‘Shake Ya A**’ rapper to 20 years behind bars.

Another Major Legal Setback

The latest ruling marks another significant chapter in the rapper’s long-running legal troubles.

Prior to this case, Mystikal was convicted in 2003 on charges related to sexual battery and served several years in prison before his release in 2010. Following that conviction, he was required to register as a lifetime sex offender.

As of writing, there has been no public statement from the rapper’s camp following Tuesday’s sentencing.
