Per Billboard, the set launches atop the coveted count with 485,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States.
The total serves as Rodrigo’s biggest opening week yet and the largest week of 2026 for any album by a solo artist.
Pure sales also delivered in a seismic way, with ‘Sad‘ selling 273,000 copies. That marks the singer-songwriter’s best sales week to date and the biggest sales frame for a woman this year. Streaming was similarly strong, with 211,000 of said units equaling 218.41 million on-demand streams of the album’s tracks.
Vinyl played a major role too. Of the first-week sales total, 164,000 came from vinyl purchases, giving the 23-year-old her biggest vinyl week yet.
The chart triumph follows the success of the album’s singles ‘Drop Dead,’ which hit #1 on the Hot 100, and ‘The Cure,’ which peaked at #5.
With ‘Sour,’ ‘Guts,’ and now ‘You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,’ Rodrigo is officially three-for-three at #1.
Next up, she takes the project on the road with ‘The Unraveled Tour, ‘ which kicks off September 25 in Hartford and is set to run through May 10, 2027 in London.
