Lil Wayne has issued an apology. The rapper failed to appear at his ’20 Years of Carter Classics’ tour stop in Bangor, Maine, on Tuesday night.

2 Chainz opened the show at the Maine Savings Amphitheater. After his set, the crowd reportedly waited until 11 p.m. before staff informed them Wayne would not appear. No official explanation was provided.
The following day, Wayne took to Instagram Stories to apologize. He wrote:
“My Maine fans I’m so sorry… The show is being rescheduled to July 28. Please hold on to your tickets, they will be honoured for the rescheduled date. I ain’t shit without you I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve.”
Fans expressed frustration. Rita Sack, who drove over six hours from Nova Scotia, told local station Wabi:
“We paid for Lil Wayne. Like, the least you can do is come out for a minute, apologize, you know? Like, just take the moment and be like, hey guys, sorry, not feeling it, feeling a little sick.”
The show has been rescheduled for July 28. Ticket holders will receive additional information via email.
Wayne was on tour supporting his recent album The Carter Effect and celebrating 20 years of his career.
