Tommy Davidson is officially back in character as Varnell Hill.

Paramount+ has unleashed the trailer for ‘The Varnell Hill Show’, the incoming ‘Martin’ spinoff that places the unforgettable talk-show host front and center nearly three decades after his scene-stealing appearance on the classic sitcom.

And, judging by the first footage, Varnell remains as captivating as ever.

The eight-episode comedy ventures behind the scenes of Varnell’s long-running late-night show, where changing viewing habits and an evolving TV industry force the larger-than-life host to confront the need for reinvention.

As the trailer previews, that means navigating executives, celebrity guests, a busy writers’ room, and attempts to pull his show into the social media age, all while Varnell remains convinced he’s still the biggest star in the building.

Davidson is joined by Kym Whitley, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Emmanuel Hudson, Chris Williams, and Nick Cafero.

Ms. Pat, Deon Cole, Damon Wayans, Mike Epps, and Omarion will guest star, while Martin Lawrence also makes an appearance.

Following the first-look reveal earlier this month, the trailer cranks excitement up another notch.

‘The Varnell Hill Show’ premieres September 1 on Paramount+.
