Tupac Shakur’s murder has resulted in its first-ever conviction, nearly 30 years after the Rap icon was fatally shot in Las Vegas.
A jury has found Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis guilty of first-degree murder in connection with the 1996 killing, delivering a landmark verdict in one of music’s most infamous unsolved cases.

The Las Vegas jury returned its verdict on Monday (August 31), finding the 63-year-old guilty of murder with the use of a deadly weapon with intent to promote, further, or assist a criminal gang.
Per TMZ, Davis now faces a possible maximum sentence of life in prison.
Prosecutors did not allege that Keffe D personally fired the shots that killed Tupac.
Instead, they argued that he served as the “shot caller” behind the attack and supplied the murder weapon after an altercation involving Tupac, his entourage, and Davis’ nephew Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson earlier that night.
The prosecution leaned heavily on Davis’ own past statements, including police interviews and his memoir, in which he discussed being inside the Cadillac from which the shots were fired.
His defense maintained that those admissions were exaggerated stories and did not prove he orchestrated the murder.
The verdict arrives after a closely watched trial that saw Suge Knight refuse to testify, despite being in the BMW with Tupac when the shooting occurred.
Davis was arrested in 2023 and had pleaded not guilty.
Tupac died six days after the September 7, 1996 shooting. He was 25.
