Chris Brown Performs ‘Crawl’

Published: Monday 16th Nov 2009 by Trent

R&B star Chris Brown kicked off his ‘Fan Appreciation Tour’ in a sold-out venue at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas on Saturday. Included in the set list was the very first live performance of the 2nd single from his upcoming album, ‘Graffiti’. The song, entitled ‘Crawl’, has already managed to debut at #99 on the Hip-Hop R&B charts after only 3 days of official release. The video for the track can be seen here.

Great performance. It looks like Rihanna isn’t the only one who has been taking vocal classes recently. I applaud him for singing this live given the high energy, dance-infused nature of his show. Keep it up Chris.

yeah i was thinking that too “illnevertell” …vocals didn’t sound live…if anything was live it might have been sum of the ad libs but idk and idc jus proud that chris has been able to rise out of a nasty situation and happy that both him and rihanna seem to be on the road towards success…!

He was FANTASTIC! A real entertainer…btw, most singers who DANCE while performing lip sing through some of their songs. Check out the you tube clip of him singing “Singing Like Me” acapella (sp?) if you doubt dude’s vocal skills.

If you watch the video and listen closely, there are certain parts of the song where it’s obvious that he’s singing live. I understand how you might not think so, because in the beginning I thought it was lip-synced too. However, later on in the video you can really hear his voice come out and it’s slightly different from the album version. There was obviously a backing track — it’s just not clear if he was overpowered by the backup vocals or if he only sang certain parts of it live. Either way, he is EXTREMELY talented vocally and dance wise and there is no denying that.
