‘A Different Me’ maestra Keyshia Cole has been winning old fans over again with her latest Lil Wayne-assisted single ‘Enough of No Love’.
‘Love’, the lead single from the singer’s forthcoming album ‘Woman To Woman’, is a return to form for Cole who says her new album will feature more of the “sad” cuts that rose her to fame in the mid-noughties.
Chatting it up with The Breakfast Club & Essence Magazine recently, the oft-brazen beauty lent her opinion on why her last album failed, what fans can expect in her new album, and why she admires Mary J. Blige and the relationship of Hip Hop power couple Jay Z & Beyonce.
Joined by husband Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, hear her thoughts after the jump:
her last album didn’t fail, she just didn’t promote it like how she should.
its failed because they thought that nicki was gonna give her a hot single and of course it flopped…the majority of nicki features FLOP!
now she got wanye on her new single and that is flopping too…sorry ms cole you should have gotten Lil Kim and Missy again for a #1 single….lol
LIL KIM DIDN’T DO S***… MISSY WROTE HER VERSE
MS WALLACE DID THE HEISMAN ON THAT H** & SAID “YOU WILL NOT USE MY SONS TRACK” LOLOLOL
@FAF kill ya self. missy did not write kims track. and for the record. Kim did help her get a hit. Nicki aint get her s*** so….
Um her last album did flop@navy.
I like her but her time is up.
Even though A Different me was an excellent album. R&B fans just seem a little fickle and don’t embrace a new style. Her changing it up was a problem. Plus calling all hearts sounded like b-sides from from every album she released.
How are R&B fans fickle if they don’t embrace a new style? We as R&B fans know what we want and what we don’t. We don’t have short attention spans and need something to be changed up every five minutes to keep our attention; doing that actually distracts us. Keyshia’s last album failed because not only was it not what her fans have come to expect from her but also because the change was corny and bland. We like angry, edgy, curse-you-out, introspective woman-scorned Keyshia. That’s why fans are flocking back to “Enough of No Love” more than any song from Calling All Hearts.
Keshia is a great artist and i love her music,
you all KILLL ME AND OTHER with that weak
ass comment saying that another artist “Time
Is Up” That is by far the weakest and most
p*** poor statement any human being can
ever make toward another, just because their
ASSSSSSSSES find something they do not like
with which ever artist they are talking about, dumb
ass c****, f****** and ass holes.
Just like Keshia admires Beyonce and Jay’s
relationship welllllllll i do to, but at the same
time many who came after Beyonce , who are
WORKING their asses off are often time, beat
over the head, bashed and slandered like a big
dog just because they too are working as hard
and as smart as they can to make it out there in
the industry.
PS
Jay & Beyonce are doing a three day show this week end and even though they have over a half dozen of artist, writers and producers hired on the Roc Label and they are RICH as Country Butter they both are still working their ASSSSSSSSES OF, SO why is it a bad thing when others work their assses off trying to stay working and making a living? Why do Beyonce’s fans go so hard on others and tries to RAMROD others career goals? why?
Why is it that a new comer has to try and out do others rather then just be themselves and keep it moving, Why?
and last but not lest WHY IS IT JUST FINE FOR JAY AND BEYONCE TO GET PAID AND MANY TRIES TO NAIL EVERYBODY ELSE’S ASS TO THE CROLSS<<<<
SORRY ABOUT THAT KESHIA JUST NEED TO VENT, THANKS!!!!!
@KESHIA, be real careful about respecting beyonce and jay relationship
because the bey hive will try to nail yo ass to the cross for
respecting the Power Couple, they will try to bash you and yours wheels off because the bey hive do not want but one power couple and one super star and that is beyonce and any one else who even want to think that they are doing good in the music industry had better bow down and kiss beyonce and jay asses first and ASK PERMISSION from bey and jay as to if they can be great in the entertainment industry are not. That bey hive calls others UGLY and it’s clear to many that since jayz have not won any BEAUTY CONTEST that we know off you’d
think that Beyonce Fans would be the first one’s to STFU,,,,talking about how another person looks! and
since Beyonce’s fans feels like she is right up there next to God Himself they refuse to give others a fair shake. I am happy that Keshia is doing her thing and she have got beautiful music and KESHIA is beautiful and could very eaisly be “The Most Beautiful ” woman in the world.
@NIIII STFU…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctVErEFWW4k
Power Houses and they are Both Beautiful..
just because her last album didn’t do well doesn’t mean it was horrible, the few of us who bought it found it to be actually interesting…RnB is actually not getting the promotion in mainstream media as before-so sad-BUT i’m happy she’s not abandoning the genre..
I think her last album was good….. Although I thought “A Different Me” was her global album and her chance to really shine cuz she had some hard genres on there and was attacking quite a few “Make Me Over” “Please Don’t Stop” “Thought You Should Know” I always think that album could have been bigger then it was……
‘I thought You Should Know’ is my favorite song from Keyshia (other than Heaven Sent) and I’m not really a fan of her music. I totally agree with you though, that era seem like her best chance for to branch out. It was her most artistic.
Erotic was hot too!
http://www.thepagewithroyalkev.com
*chance for her to branch out on.
*slaps fives*
I believe that Keyshia had the 4th album curse. Think about it. Lots of 4th albums had a major decline in sales (Rated R, 4, Calling All Hearts, Basic Instinct, Bionic) and on and on. The album was ok to me. I wish Keyshia could make songs about her happy life instead of that sad mad stuff for sales. But at least she listens to her fans. More artists should do that when their album sales decline instead of jumping on a bandwagon.
Keyshia’s first two albums are her best with “Just Like You” being her most polished to date. I’m still disappointed about how after her sophomore album the productions seemed to get stale and her vocals were more sloppy.. or maybe they just weren’t mixed/engineered right. Her sophomore album had single after single on it, but at she did release quite a few singles/videos that era for an R&B artist.
I hope this next album is good, because she has staying power in this industry and she needs to stay consistent. Releasing bull is worse than being on hiatus.
I’m sorry but for a hood ghetto b****, she really brought some class with her answers. I was very impressed with her response toward her old management
See, your a judgemental b****! This is why so many black people succeed or move forward because its perceived that as they choose to dress or talk in a certain way that they have no intelligence or know how to conduct themselves, and then you have Beyonce will all the trappings of an American middle class upbringing and only recently managed to string a sentence together (verbally & written) to the point that she’s writing pen letters to all her friends new and old – but i guess you were worshipping her because she fitted your mould.
Anyway, nice interview
some black people *never* succeed
@i’m not throwing shade, why don’t you put that
comment after all of the comments on this board and perhaps put it two time’s on all of the RIHANNA post since you seem to think that JER is Judegemental, CAUSE
if RIHANNA have 100 comments then 99 of those comments are JUDGEMENTAL,,,and i don’rt see yo ass going after them.
You Bytche beat’s all you can go after two are three people about their comments and yet it can be 99 Haters and yo ass don’t even breath, so i’d say to yo ass FALL THE Phuck back off JER and mind yo own dam BUSINESS, and you simple minded WORTHLESS BYTCHES seem to always forget that this is a blog site and if yo ASSSES isn’t saying anything to the many haters who come after RIHANNA on this board i know dam well you are not going to single out two or three to tslk shyt too.
PS
And JER did not even beat up on keshia at all ..
@LAX Do you think i have time to wade through the hundreds of Rihanna posts…. i don’t! And i like Keyisha as an artist i really have little to no time for Rihanna so will not comment unless i’m one of the first, or if its a slow news day.
I’d like to say that i read all of your comment but i didn’t when people start swearing i switch off because clearly they cannot articulate themselves properly. Anyway. I tool offence at the “for a ghetto hood b*tch” comment that was made and thats why i replied when all the original comments were made (no replies) read again, i dont see any offensive ones
I’m sorry i have to comment again. I love Keyshia Cole. REAL motherfucking WOMAN right there i love love Keyshia.
Her personality is such a turn off for me. She comes off kinda cold. Even her facial expressions when her husband is talking is like ‘Shut up, dude.’
@CRISS she isn’t up for a personality contest if that
was the case then we could question everybody’s Attitudes!

Another great number and her Vocals are on point!
@i’m not throwing shade,,,,,where is yo COMMENT
and shyt talking for this comment right here……..

CRISS,,,COMMENT right here in this comment, let us see yo ass firying

@CRISS you too can STFU because this Music Video
is also hot and so UNDERRATED…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkOTimhMwSs
Visual’s are out of sight.
ALL HER ALBUMS ARE GOOD!!! PERIOD!!! CALLING ALL HEARTS WASN’T EVEN ALL HAPPY, IF THEM DUMBASSES WOULDVE ACTUALLY LISTENED TO IT, THEY WOULD’VE HEARD SHE HAD SAD SONGS THERE TOO (MY FAVE “SO IMPOSSIBLE”)
HOWEVER IT DID FLOP… SHE SHOULDVE CONTINUED TO RELEASE VIDEOS & PERFORM OR DO A TOUR FOR IT
AND SHE NEEDS TO PRESS HER LABEL FOR RIAA PLATINUM CERTIFICATION FROM “A DIFFERENT ME” !!
I actually liked Calling All Hearts. It was different. It’s sad that she’s gonna feel the need to do these “angry woman scorned” songs for the rest of her career just because that CD tanked. It’s also sad that that’s all people want to hear. She’s happy and has a family now, why shouldn’t her music reflect that? I’ll ALWAYS be checking for a new Keyshia CD but if all we’re gonna be hearing from her is the same sad songs it’ll be a wrap soon…
