After a lengthy absence from the Hot 100 due to the backlash that ensued after his January-released ‘J Christ,’ rapper-singer Lil Nas X is looking to light up the charts again with his comeback cut ‘Light Again!’

Serving as the kickoff single of his forthcoming ‘Dreamboy‘ era, ‘Light’ arrived to digital shelves on November 15 on the wings of an energetic music video that certainly got people talking.

To capitalize on the momentum, the GRAMMY winner is pounding the promo trail in support of the Take a Daytrip-produced single with his latest stop seeing him give the tune its first live performance during a visit to the ‘On the Radar’ studio.

With that ‘J Christ‘ drama in his rearview, Lil Nas X is powering forward with the ‘Dreamboy’ era.

Delivering the project’s lead single, ‘Light Again,’ after ample teasing, the new cut comes as a House-inspired, bass-buoyed bop that’s sure to be a party starter.

“I’m delivered like the text went through / J. Cole said it’s memes or mills / But I’m the king and the jester though / N–as really wanna wipe me down / I got more patience than a hospital / Swear these ni–as rather beef with me,” he raps over the cut produced by longtime collaborator Take a Daytrip.

Lil Nas X is extending an olive branch after a weekend war with fellow rapper Azealia Banks.

As reported here, the ‘Ice Princess‘ performer came off more than a little cold when she took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to ridicule Nas for “falling off.”

Once the commentary got to his desk, he blasted the femcee – branding her a “botched body bussy soap seller” who “sacrificed chickens.”

His reaction to her initial diss sent her on a Twitter tirade as she launched a series of racially charged and homophobic insults the way of the openly gay GRAMMY winner.

Instead of matching her energy, LNX took to Instagram to offer Banks words of encouragement.

‘Old Town Road‘ hitmaker Lil Nas X rode to the top of headlines on Sunday (October 27) when he took to social media to clap back at fellow rapper Azealia Banks for randomly discussing his career trajectory.

Lil Nas X really fell off so hard. Lmfao that little c*ntrag swore she was the tea. B*tch has NO BARS,” she told her 154,000 followers on the platform.

As reported here, the 2x GRAMMY winner took little time hitting back at Banks – not only slamming her lack of commercial success but also branding the femcee a “botched body” chicken sacrificer.

Self-proclaimed as the “best song of all time,” Lil Nas X‘s ‘Here We Go‘ – recorded for the latest installment of Eddie Murphy‘s classic ‘Beverly Hills Cop‘ film franchise – dropped Friday (June 28) at midnight ahead of the movie’s July 3 release to Netflix.

“Tell them boys they better move / Tell ’em make room, tell ’em make a way / Tell ’em make a hole / Tell them boys he better hide, tell ’em lay low / Tell ’em play it safe, cause we don’t play at all,” he sings on the Ojivolta and Twisco-produced track.
