As if being the first male vocalist to sell over 100 million digital records in the United States isn’t enough to brag about, Justin Bieber sits in the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) history books as the most-decorated male singer ever.

Now, thanks to the ongoing success of his third Hot 100 #1 single ‘Love Yourself’ (from the 2015 album ‘Purpose’), the Canadian heartthrob has extended the already gargantuan record.

Over a decade into his career, Justin Bieber easily remains one of music’s most dominating forces – a position regularly reiterated by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Less than 7 months after becoming the first male singer to sell over 100 million digital records (as we reported here), the GRAMMY winner extends the record thanks to the success of his two Hot 100 #1 singles of 2021 – ‘Peaches’ (featuring Giveon and Daniel Caesar) and ‘Stay’ alongside Kid LAROI.

Despite rendering two multiPlatinum singles – ‘Yummy’ and ‘Intentions’ (featuring Quavo) – Justin Bieber‘s 2020 era, ‘Changes,’ was widely regarded a failure when compared to the mega-success of the efforts that preceded it.

Quickly abandoned (in some part due to the global health crisis as well), the era’s successor – 2021’s ‘Justice’ – has proven in more ways than one it’s picking up the slack.

It’s a great week to be Justin Bieber!

The 27-year-old just learned his latest album ‘Justice’ debuted atop the Billboard 200 the same week its latest single, ‘Peaches,’ took a bite out of the Hot 100’s top spot (as we reported here).

It gets lonely at the top;  just ask Justin Bieber.

If continued fan consumption is anything to judge by, ‘Yummy’ is an apt title for the lead single from Justin Bieber‘s fifth studio album, ‘Changes.’

Granted, the LP has proven itself to be his slowest selling to date but its singles – namely ‘Yummy’ and the Quavo-assisted ‘Intentions’ – have been the era’s saving graces.  Such is especially the case with the latter which was certified 2x Platinum, peaked at #5 on the Hot 100, and ended the year at #18 on the year-end charts.

Now, its predecessor is catching up to its ranks as it relates to certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Commercially, ‘Changes’ continues to prove itself an inadvertently apt description for Justin Bieber‘s last era.

Coincidentally kicked off by the R&B-flavored ‘Yummy,’ the project – despite topping the Billboard 200 in February – has been his least consumed by music lovers to date.

Yet, despite not knowing the out-of-the-box success of its predecessors ‘Purpose,’ ‘Believe,’ and ‘My World 2.0,,’ ‘Changes’ can now at least boast a similar stat:  Platinum status.

Chris Brown, The Weeknd, and Usher are easily the three most successful Black male singer singles artists of the century.

While Chris sits in the record books of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for being the first male vocalist overall to have 20 multi-Platinum singles, The Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye) was the first Black male singer to sell over 100 million singles in the U.S. and have 5 Diamond-certified hits.

Recently, Usher became the first Black male to own a Diamond-certified single and album that was released this century.

As if that wasn’t enough to celebrate, he’s joined Brown and Tesfaye in an exclusive RIAA club.
