Linda Fairstein Blacklisting Reaches New Heights Following ‘When They See Us’ Impact

Published: Tuesday 4th Jun 2019 by David

Shame and disgrace continues to fall upon the shoulders of Linda Fairstein, the lady accused of using the legal apparatus to ruin the lives of five innocent black and brown children.

Bad news for a powerful lady below…

Fairstein has been showered with insults ever since the release of Ava DuVernay’s ‘When They See Us’…the movie which details the ways in which the legal empress and her minions within the police force used fear, violence and intimidation to force kids to admit to carrying out a horrific attack on a woman in Central Park.

The real culprit would emerge from the shadows to exonerate them.

Now, calls to have Fairstein’s works and books blacklisted have seen her face the full wrath of the disgusted general public and pulled from the non-profit organisation Safe Horizon.

TMZ reports…

Sources at Safe Horizon — a nonprofit aiding victims of abuse and violent crime in NYC — tell us its staffers are incensed the former prosecutor’s been allowed to remain on the board for so long, considering her checkered past.

We’re told the animosity began when the CEO held a meeting on May 21 where nearly 100 directors were informed about the Netflix drama and Fairstein’s connection to it.

We’re told some staffers didn’t even know Fairstein was on the board of directors, and when they found out tempers quickly flared. Many questioned why she was allowed on the board of an organization that mostly serves minorities.

This is not the first time nor the last she has received backlash from this. I really wish people thought deeper on this than the automatic cancelling that goes on these days. Yes, I cosign ‘cancelling’ her BUT please don’t let that be the end. She did not send those men to prison by herself! The police are equally guilty and the prosecutor too. Let’s not use her as a standalone scapegoat. Let’s ‘cancel’ all players and help these men get a class action lawsuit against the City of New York for millions in damages for gross negligence and racist convictions without one shred of evidence! The police should have kept investigating and found who the real attackers were instead of this racist ATTACK.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The men have already received a collective $41 million in damages from New York.

I want to see the officers involved each robbed of their life comforts & conveniences.

      Don’t just cancel one witch.
Burn all these demons at the stake!

Thats good to hear Brent. I am glad they received some damages from NY. I am on part 3 of the 4 part series. It is hard to watch but I am liking the series so far. I remember reading about this many years ago and I glad it is being depicted in film.

Linda Fairstein was a trailblazer among women lawyers our age (I’m only 2 years younger), who put the prosecution of people who prey upon and abuse women on the map. She was a heroine, and her being characterized as a “villain” in the wake of the “Central Park 5” prosecution is outrageous & false on too many levels to list in this comment. That said, I will start by noting that while I had no “inside information” @ the case, I did see the public coverage…including a video in which the mother of one of the 5 literally smacked her son with her handbag as he confessed to being involved in the attack on the jogger, yelling “you did what???” And at least 3 of the other 5 also had a parent present during the police interrogation. I wd also note that Linda Fairstein was not the in-court prosecutor of the case (Ms. Fairstein was the unit’s supervisor; the in-court prosecutor was Elizabeth Lederer), and Ms. Lederer, in her opening remarks to the jury (as I recall) stated forthrightly that the s**** found in/on the jogger did not match the DNA of any of the 5 defendants…she said up-front that they knew an unidentified man was also involved. The arresting officer (again, as I recall) was an African-American man, responding to reports of “assaults” in Central Park, and when one of the suspects he arrested blurted-out, while being transported to the police precinct, “I didn’t kill the lady,” the officer had no idea what he was talking about. The victims about whom the officer knew (at the time) had not suffered life-threatening injuries…and, moreover, as far as was known at the time, the two victims who suffered the worst injuries were men (not “ladies”). The nearly-dead “lady” jogger was not found for a few hours later. Ultimately, years later, the guy who did the “actual r***” was identified, through his DNA and his own confession, in which he said he acted alone…although medical experts have opined that the jogger’s injuries & the location where she was found suggested that more than one person was involved in the assault. Regardless, there were multiple evidence-based reasons to charge the 5 defendants, and no evidence to support the allegation that the prosecution of the Central Park 5 was brought in bad faith…let alone that Linda Fairstein orchestrated a bogus prosecution. It shd also be kept in mind that Ms. Fairstein had indicated/announced her intention to run for Manhattan DA against the long-serving (90 year old?) DA Morgenthau…typically, the DA wd fight any lawsuit alleging a bad faith prosecution…but not in this case. Instead, Morgenthau uncharacteristically folded like a tent, and destroyed Linda Fairstein’s solid reputation in one stroke. Anyone want to talk about bad faith?
