As George Floyd‘s fianceé continues to call for an end to the riots sparked in response to his death, Kellie Chauvin – wife of the now-arrested and charged former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin responsible – has revealed she has filed for divorce.

In a statement released from Sekula Law Offices, Kellie revealed:
“This evening, I spoke with Kellie Chauvin and her family. She is devastated by Mr. Floyd’s death and her utmost sympathy lies with his family, with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy. She has filed for dissolution of her marriage to Derek Chauvin,” reads the statement released by Sekula Law Offices.
Later in the statement,
“While Ms. Chauvin has no children from her current marriage, she respectfully requests that her children, her elder parents, and her extended family be given safety and privacy during this difficult time,” the statement continued.

If the marriage is dissolved by the time his trial rolls around, Kellie could legally testify against him if she chose to.
The announcement comes just hours after it was announced her soon-to-be-former husband, Derek, was arrested and charged with third degree murder and manslaughter for the filmed death of Floyd.

It seems like one person being murdered is worth more than 10 black people being murdered, if done by a white man. Cause no one has said anything about what happend in Chicago.
