Bill Cosby Granted The Right To Appeal Sexual Abuse Conviction

Published: Tuesday 23rd Jun 2020 by David

Bill Cosby, the African-American icon accused of drugging and raping several women, has been granted the right to appeal his sexual assault conviction.

Full story below….

The entertainer has been imprisoned in a Philadelphia prison after he was convicted of drugging and raping a young lady at his home in 2004.

Now, after learning that he is to serve a three to ten year sentence, he has now discovered that he has been granted the right to appeal the conviction.

The Guardian reports…

The state supreme court has agreed to review two aspects of the case, including the judge’s decision to let prosecutors call five other accusers to testify about long-ago encounters with the once-powerful actor and comedian. Cosby’s lawyers have long challenged that testimony as remote and unreliable. The court will also consider, as it weighs the scope of the testimony allowed, whether the jury should have heard evidence that Cosby had given qualudes to women in the past.

It will also examine his argument that he reached an agreement with a former prosecutor which stated- as far he sees it- that he wouldn’t be convicted from the crimes he is accused of committing….even if he committed them.

His lawyer Andrew Wyatt shared…

As we have all stated, the false conviction of Bill Cosby is so much bigger than him – it’s about the destruction of ALL Black people and people of color in America,

Bill isn’t the only alleged sexual predator making headlines right about now.

I bet HBO is salivating over this right now.

What does HBO have to do with this?

Russell Simmons is mentioned in the article. HBO was in production on this year’s Simmons doc just 5 months after their MJ doc. I don’t doubt they’re looking at Cosby for their next s-e-x crime documentary.
