Kelly Rowland‘s hotly anticipated talent search ‘Chasing Destiny’ strutted onto TV screens Tuesday, after the highly anticipated return of ‘Black Girls Rock.’
The docu-series, which sees the Destiny’s Child star team up with renown creative
director Frank Gatson to piece together music’s next big girl group, was greeted with favorable viewership for its timeslot.
A feat accomplished thanks to Rowland’s relentless promotion (which saw her touch and tackle television, radio, and print), now the final ratings have been revealed to show if all of the ‘Work’ singer’s hard work paid off.

Uh oh! Okay, the numbers aren’t so bad. I actually loved the premiere, but I really wish she doesn’t try to force the girls into the “R&B” category like what the rest of the music industry does. Have some pop in there, because ultimately EVERYONE needs that major pop hit to breakthrough. Why do you think Tori Kelly hasn’t popped off yet?

But Zoe ever After came on at 8 pm at night perfect time slot! Chasing Destiny came on at 10:30 pm at night! When they change the time of the show next week the ratings will most likely go up bcuz I most definitely fell asleep during Blk girls rock and made sure i recorded it!

The show did good for the first time. Come one now just kept watching the show. I believe it will be a hit ever week. Just have faith give Kelly Rowland a break. This is her time to shine ok

It did those low numbers while premiering after BGR? How many viewers did BGR get? Damn.
Bgr only did a little under a mil so chasing destiny didn’t really have that many less viewers especially at 10:30
These are not low numbers dumbasses! BET is considered a premium channel in some parts of the country resulting in lower viewership in general compared to other cable networks. Anything with a 500,000 viewership or higher for BET is considered a success. Anything above 1 million is ratings gold for that network.
I actually like Kelly’s new show. She’s a lil ghetto tho which makes me like her even more lol. She is sweet but can cut with her words real quick. That’s my kinda chick! Congrats Kelly!

A 930pm central 1030 Eastern start time shoot alotta pple are ready for bed at that time lol but yeah those numbers aren’t bad at all for BET Black Girls Rock didn’t pull 1million compared to previous seasons the one Kelly was on being the highest 2.7 million on a Sunday which has is where they shouldve keept it!

Wow, It was really good though….. BGR wasnt that entertaining aside from the on point performers, Maybe that had something to do with it.
However the show will pick up….
BET as a network has been on a downward spiral for a few years now, so the numbers are decent considering….
Yes, BGR was a snoozefest this yr! They need to keep that show on Sundays… As for Kelly her show is a hit and her ratings would have been much higher if it came on earlier in the evening! Her ratings will only go up once the time change and more ppl pass the word on about the show! It really is a great show and Ive heard nothing but good things about it…. her ratings are already great for BET!

I liked it a lot! It has a very authentic documentary feel to it, and reminds me a bit of the MTV Diary. I knew it wasn’t going to do large numbers because it doesn’t have the high budget and scope that X Factor had, or the drama/catfights that Making the Band did. But as long as it’s consistent then it will do fine. Well done Kelly!

Okay so I admit… I’m in the bed by 9pm…if I feel like I can hang I will tune in but I never can get through the entire show…change the show time! Lawdddd. Most of us got to get up at 5am. I do enjoy the show! So what I do is watch it on my TV provider’s app while at work the next day.
They look Awkward. The dark skin one look like she Could be a solo artist like Jennifer Hudson. They should let Gabby goShe don’t look right with the girls. They just look weird to me Everyone is not the same height
Yes it’s a good show for The world but she’s not thinking about the appearance of the girls and how the Vision Works To me she needs to at least Cut 2. Gabby voice is too deep And the dark skinned it would just put me in the mind of Jennifer Hudson’s solo Her voice is too great to be in a group.
