Welcome to another edition of Retro Rewind, the TGJ original feature which seeks to unearth some of TV and Film’s hidden/forgotten gems.
Today, we revisit 2005’s ‘The Seat Filler’ which starred Kelly Rowland, Mel B, Duane Martin, Kyla Pratt and Shemare Moore.
In it, Rowland plays a popular R&B singer who meets a man she believes is a high profile entertainment lawyer at an awards ceremony. However, it isn’t long before she discovers that all isn’t as it seems prompting romance and comedy to ensue.
Never seen the movie?
Press play to catch the Tisha Campbell and Duane Martin creation below…
Tisha and Duane were able to secure $8 million to create the movie and, by way of Kelly’s performance, welcomed a return of $27.9 million.
Good Morning
Love this movie
As do I!
Some of Kelly’s best acting… I loved this film
I still have this movie
This movie was good and Kelly needs to be in a James Bond movie or action movie because I think she could kill it and she would be beautiful
Love this movie!
Queen ?
#DoLikeThat on soundloud now
You need to upload “Do Like That”. It’s a song by a Nigerian artist named Korede Bello, but it features Kelly Rowland and it is CRAZY good. I hope this is one of the sounds that inspired the album she’s now cooking up. It’s so fresh and unique. I have a feeling Kelly is about to serve up pure FIRE, and the world aint ready.
I love that song so much
Haven’t seen it but I assume it’s a J.Lo biopic dahhhling!
Nice
