French Montana Locked Into Racism Scandal

Published: Thursday 6th Apr 2017 by David

As human rights activists seek ways to defeat the abuse of black people within North Africa and the Middle East, the North African rapper French Montana has found himself on the receiving end of claims that he is a part of the horrific problem.

Full story below…

Nappy:

Used to describe someone (typically of African descent) who possesses tightly coiled, very curly hair. Often used as a slur, insult, or indicator of self-loathing.

Thousands rocked the performer’s social media platforms after he launched the racially-charged diss at the young woman above prompting him to issue the following statement:

Unfortunately for him few are convinced, citing the use of the word “nappy” and “poetic justice” (see cultural relevance of braids to African-American community) as their grounds for believing his jab was racist.

Like the black community does not have dark skin/light skin issue. Nappy Hair in 2017? how does he know, her roots are not showing in the pic. He’s a fool. With a limited career.

    Who really cares?

  3. Hmmm… April 6, 2017

Nappy is always the first thing they go for when arguing with a black woman. That, or bald headed. And yes, I have a problem with that. But that aside, whether it was racist or not, Being from Africa and having a black child means what, exactly? Foh. Being from Africa is irrelevant and just because you have a black child or are in a relationship with a black person, does not mean that you cannot be racist. Such stupid logic. That’s like saying a man can’t be sexist because he has a wife or a daughter.

This annoys me because his statement just goes to show there is something wrong with nappy. It’s a shame that black women cant be who they naturally are in a job in a professional setting because “nappy” is deemed unprofessional.

Great and thorough article this is. So many female pop singers do sound like Rihanna, especially MØ and Sia. Consequently, the music buying public still begs for great singing talent like Adele, which is why Adele still outsells everyone thrice over.

very interesting article. Ive been saying this

I’m sure no racial intent was intended. If he were darker, it wouldn’t even matter. People reference known characters all the time.

    • I can’t April 6, 2017

If it’s not racially intended, would a White or Asian girl ever be referred to as having Nappy anything?? And if he were darker, it would still matter. Never mind the fact that French Montana isn’t even black, in the first place.

Black ppl are always so sensitive smh they create something everywhere they go

    • Pro Black Doesn’t Mean Anti White April 6, 2017

Nice try but we see past the bait. Best hope that this site (which is run by black people) doesn’t show you how sensitive they can be and expose your IP address. It’d be a Shame if you say, caught a v**** or something.

      • Caleb April 6, 2017

That person is a horrible v****.

  8. truthteller April 6, 2017

Hardly a shock. North Africans have historically always looked down on blacks. Even in Egyptian mythology, “negroes” were always the villains

  9. Rima April 6, 2017

The black community is so sensitive everything is racism too them.

I don’t see anything wrong with what he said. She threw shots so he fired back. Don’t say something about somebody then be mad when you get something said back. Just like if bey, rih, nick, etc. were to come into fhe comment section of TGJ and get to clapping back at y’all (which most of u deserve) I wouldn’t have a problem with it.

  11. Trose April 6, 2017

He lit her up cause she did it too him…what’s the problem

    • Jasmine April 6, 2017

You miss the point. The problem is not that he is being petty and going tit for tat with a female while letting men call him all sort of names. That is not the point. The problem is that he threw racial slurs at this woman and when you are a celebrity you have to always be aware of your brand and smart enough not to let your words come back to bite you.

Him trying to say that he can’t be racist against Black people because he was born in Africa. That would be like me saying I can’t be racist against Native Americans because I was born in North America. It doesn’t make any sense. Arabs are not indigenous to North Africa, but they have been treating the indigenous Black people very badly in many places, particularly in Libya ever since the US and NATO attacked and overthrew the Libyan government of Mommar Gaddafi. The US is so treacherous.

Wait don’t some of us black people say this about each other everyday. Not taking sides but is it not equally as wrong to say the same thing to someone else period. Also some of us are flip floppers. Where were you when you let him use the n word in songs but now want to come for him. This is what’s wrong with the world . When people are disrespected through music they are Eating it up but when they get embarrassed on social media, they want revenge. Smh.

People have a right to be upset.
“Nappy hair” and “Poetic Braids” is all a knock of hatred and an act of racism within itself. The girl’s hair is clearly not nappy so him saying that provides more ammo to the fuel of the conversation on why rappers like him always have lightskin/white skinned females in his videos but the brown/dark ones.

He ain’t even black why is he allowed to say “N*gga”? SMH

  15. ya April 6, 2017

This is why I don’t mess with people like him and Dj Khalid theyre posers they make money off of our culture and deep down they know they are nothing like us. Black American Folks need to have more self respect and get trash like that out of our lives…. They do not mean us well….
