Ava DuVernay & Colin Kaepernick have a very special project on the way!
Brilliant news below…
The now iconic Kaepernick has joined forces with Ava to create a comedy based on his life as a teenager in California following his bold and commendable decision to protest systemic racism against black people via his position in the National Football League.
Vanity Fair has the exclusive…
DuVernay has a lot to do: casting for her yet-to-be-named Netflix limited series about the Central Park Five; working with editors, directors and writers on the third season of Queen Sugar, which started airing May 29; putting the finishing touches on her CBS pilot, Red Line; and meeting with her Wrinkle producer Jim Whitaker on two new projects, including the Battle of Versailles movie at HBO and a TV comedy series with Colin Kaepernick that centers on his high-school life.
A premiere date for the show is yet to be set as, as far as the pair’s supporters know, it is still on its way to finding a home.
I like Colin. I wish a NFL team would be bold enough to sign him on. He’s talented enough and deserves to play again.
