Jay Manuel and J Alexander of ‘America’s Next Top Model‘ reveal that producers who spoke out against some of the show’s disconcerting (and offensive) challenges were fired on the spot.
In an Instagram Live conversation, the creatives detailed their time on the show and offered insight into some of the decisions Banks and producer Ken Mok have apologised for making this month.

The artists starred in the show’s formative seasons, and explained that they are speaking about the series now because their contracts prevented them from saying anything about it for five years after their last on-camera appearance.
Though keen to stress that they feel Banks has been thrown under the bus, they did explain that everything that took place on the series happened because she wanted it to and that Jay Manuel is suffering from PTSD because of what he witnessed behind its heavily edited scenes.
Manuel also confirmed a report which claimed that the general public has only seen a version of the infamous “we were all rooting for you” moment on the series because the unedited version saw Bank attack Tiffany Richardson‘s family and its living arrangements.
