As TV phenomenons go, few can rival the almost instant popularity of ‘Bridgerton.’

Issued as the first fruit of Shonda Rhimes‘ blockbuster Netflix deal, the show delivered and then some – going on to be deemed the streamer’s most successful series.

Moments ago, it was announced that the platform has renewed ‘Bridgerton’ for season 3 and season 4.

The show was first renewed for a second season just weeks after its inaugural season premiered.

Bela Bajaria, VP, Global TV at Netflix said in a statement:

“‘Bridgerton’ swept us off our feet. The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We’re planning to be in the ‘Bridgerton’ business for a long time to come.”

Based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling novel series of the same name, the racy story of ‘Bridgerton’ is set in the lavish and competitive world of Regency London high society.

Think they should wait to see how season two goes. They will lose a lot of their audience with the absence of their main black character

Without one of the main characters I don’t think it will be as successful as the first .
