Almost three years after alleging he was the victim of a hate attack, Jussie Smollett was convicted on five counts of fabricating the entire incident.
As reported, a Cook Country jury found the former ‘Empire’ actor guilty on all but one of the charges he was hit with.
The six men and six women opted to side with the account given by key prosecution witnesses Abel and Ola Osundairo, who say they conspired with Smollett to plan the January 2019 hoax.
In the wake of the verdict, Smollett’s legal team issued a statement at the front of the courthouse confirming that they will be mounting an appeal to prove his innocence.

Attorney Nenye Uche told reporters he “respectfully disagrees” with the verdict and will be filing an appeal:
“He [Smollett] is 100% confident that this will be reversed on appeal. At the end of the day, we believe justice will prevail. We don’t believe it was done today, but we’re very confident that he will be cleared, and he will be found to be innocent.”

I believed it was fake at first but then I thought about it some more….he had so much going for him in his career, why would he jeopardize that? what if the brothers—who he thought were his friends, are actually lying? What if they tried to set him up? This case is messy…the part about the drugs and bathhouse lol!
Because he’s a narcissist who suffers from delusions of grandeur. He wanted to be seen as this warrior, or the “gay Tupac” as he hailed himself a few day after the so called attack. Clearly Jussie wanted to be known as more than just the guy from Empire. And he used the political climate to do so! That’s the worst part about it. Besides that his story didn’t add up. I don’t feel sorry for him.

Jussie is either a narcisstic pathological liar or he is so deluded that he has convinced himself that he was attacked. His family needs to get him help rather than enabling his illness.
He should just own it and check himself to rehab / mental health facility…
