Nearly 30 years after the cast of the groundbreaking TV comedy ‘Martin’ first said hello to what would become its legion of adoring fans, its surviving members are set to reunite in a highly anticipated BET+ special.

Hosted by Affion Crockett, the special – featuring stars Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, and Carl Anthony Payne II – will reportedly be taped Sunday (February 20) and revealed later this year.

During the sit down, the quintet of comedians will welcome surprise guests and remember the late Thomas Mikal Ford (who portrayed Martin’s best friend ‘Tommy’). What’s more, the special will include interviews with the series’ original directors as well as musical performances and behind-the-scenes commentary on the enduring cultural and historical impact of the show.

Speaking on the surprise announcement, Lawrence said:

“To be able to sit here 30 years later with this amazing cast that has had such an impact on pop culture is truly a blessing. I am always humbled that the fans still want more of the show and its characters. I am looking forward to the reunion special.”

The news comes just months after Arnold and Campbell took to press to reveal they felt the long-rumored reboot of the show won’t happen.

‘Martin’ aired for five seasons between 1992-1997.
