love Taraji but I wish this role would go to a SINGER/actor and not an actor who can sing
I have no doubt Taraji can act the h e l l out
of Shug, but there’s only one Tata Vega (the singer Margaret Avery lipsynced to). I know ‘Maybe God Is Trying To Tell You Something” isn’t apart of the musical but I think they should include it in this adaption! Most people familiar with the movie will be expecting it. I was rooting for Brandy in this role but at least it’s not Screamiffer Hudson.
She is too damn old!
They need to pick Fantasia as Celie cause there is Noone better to play this role than her
