The fallout from Will Smith‘s dramatic Oscar night – which saw him slap Chris Rock – has divided opinion.
Some sects have lambasted the Best Actor winner and called for sanctions, while others have rallied behind the Hollywood titan, reprimanded him with love, and encouraged understanding. Especially in light of him defending his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, who was at the center of a jab by Rock about her bald ‘do (which was caused by alopecia).
The legendary Denzel Washington has stood up as part of the latter.

Appearing with Pastor T.D. Jakes at a Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C, Washington was quizzed about Smith and Rock’s altercation and said:
“There’s a saying when the devil ignores you, then you know you’re doing something wrong. The devil goes, ‘Oh, no, leave him alone, he’s my favorite.’ Conversely, when the devil comes at you, maybe it’s because he’s trying to do something right. And for whatever reason, the devil got a hold of him that night.”
The ‘Training Day’ actor added:
“Fortunately there were people there, not just me but others. Tyler Perry, came immediately right over there with me. Some prayers. I don’t wanna say what we talked about. But there but for the grace of God go any of us. Who are we to condemn? I don’t know all the ins and outs of this situation, but I know the only solution was prayer. The way I saw it. The way I see it.”

Will has been in this industry for over 30 plus years and has never been dim problematic or anything of the sort negative especially when he was a rapper. He does one ” Public Mistake” and he should be stripped of redemption??? where’s people in this same filed has done worse with second to more chances given? FOH let it go. I don’t think he’s canceled. It’ll just take some time. There are actors and filmmakers who probably don’t feel good about working with Will right now, and not a whole lot of people are excited about seeing him have a dominant role in any new film after seeing the way he dominated and abused his power at the Oscars. Those images won’t ever be erased, but with time, the feelings we have about them will likely fade.
