In the words of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, “there can be miracles when you believe.”
And even then, few could have foreseen Mo’Nique mending fences with Lee Daniels. Yet, that is exactly what’s happened. Because the pair have joined forces for a new film.
Full story below…
Deadline reports that Mo’Nique and Daniels have put their fallout over ‘Precious’ promotional commitments to bed and are accelerating full speed with the film ‘Demon House’ – which will interestingly take residence at Netflix.
Of course, as reported, the actress and comedienne also publicly expressed her displeasure with the streamer over the pay packet proposed for a stand-up special.
As such, taking on a prominent role in ‘Demon House’ appears to have melted the ice block on that front too.
Mo’Nique will play a clergy member who helps a family through a series of exorcisms in the film, which also stars Andra Day, Aunjanue Ellis, Glenn Close, and Caleb McLaughlin.
Octavia Spencer was originally tapped for the role, however, she had to depart due to a scheduling conflict with her Apple TV+ television show ‘Truth Be Told.’ Mo’Nique has been tapped to replace her.

Suffice to say, we most definitely weren’t expecting this. But what an awesome development nonetheless. As the age-old adage goes: Anything is possible.
