Beloved ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ antagonist Knuckles is ready to knockout the competition courtesy of his own live-action series at Paramount+.
Details inside.
A year after plans for a Knuckles-based spinoffwas first announced, official reports indicate production is finally underway in London and initial casting has been set.
Led by EMMY-nominated global superstar Idris Elba as the titular character, the forthcoming series – which also boasts Adam Pally and Tika Sumpter among its leading cast – has already assembled an all-star list of names to bring its story to live-action that includes Edi Patterson, Julian Barratt, Scott Mescudi, and Ellie Taylor.
More names are expected to be announced in the coming months.
While no tentative release date has been confirmed, it’s being reported the show’s storyline will occur between the events spelled out in 2022’s ‘Sonic 2’ and ‘Sonic 3’ (which is slated for a December 20, 2024 premiere in theaters).
Jeff Fowler, who directed both box office-blasting ‘Sonic’ films, will executive produce the series.
