Buckle up because ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ is back!

Eddie Murphy reprises his role as Axel Foley in the high-octane police film series – which became popularized in the 1980s with three blockbuster installments.

As reported, the fourth film in the franchise was originally powered by Paramount Pictures and was set for the big screen. However, the studio entered into a unique pact with Netflix that will bring ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ to the streamer in 2024.

The juggernaut also unveiled the first look at Murphy back in action.

Head below to find out what this chapter of ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ will be bringing.

Per Empire, the new film will see Axel’s criminal defense attorney daughter (Taylour Paige) pull her father into a California-based case — where he’ll cause issues for Kevin Bacon’s LAPD special-unit officer, and team up with a new partner, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Mark Molloy has been tapped to direct the flick which was written by Will Beall (whose credits include ‘Aquaman’).

Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, and Melissa Reid are on board as producers for Jerry Bruckheimer Films, while  Murphy serves as executive producer alongside Charisse Hewitt-Webster and Ray Angelic.

After a relatively lengthy spell out of the active spotlight, Murphy has been firing from all cylinders – earning rave reviews and award nominations for Netflix’s ‘Dolemite is My Name’ in 2019 while also revisiting another of his famous franchises, ‘Coming to America’ with 2021’s Prime Video-powered ‘Coming 2 America.’

The legend also leads the holiday flick ‘Candy Cane Lane’ (also on Prime), which is out on December 1.

Hard to go wrong with Jerry Bruckheimer. But I still want Eddie back on the big screen along with some others like Sanaa Lathan, Halle Berry, Omar Epps, Wesley Snipes, Queen Latifah. I would say Jada but… yeah.
