Halle Berry has long defined longevity, and it’s a status she is embracing with pride.
That Grape Juice caught up with the Oscar winner at the London premiere of her latest movie, ‘Crime 101,’ which also stars Chris Hemsworth.
Speaking with TGJ’s LaShanna, the 59-year-old discussed how her character allowed her to challenge ageist social norms by portraying a woman who remains valuable and impactful later in life.
Watch the full interview above and check out quotes below:
On Relating to her Character:
“I think because she’s so much like me I related to her being a woman of a certain age and you know what we’re facing today socially with women being sort of discarded at a certain age and made to feel… as if we have nothing left to contribute… and so to be able to portray this character and have my say on film through art was just wildly gratifying.”
On Her Career Journey:
“I have no regrets about anything I’ve ever done… I would say just keep enjoying it… I’ve never taken any of it for granted and I’m just so grateful that at almost 60 I’m still here doing the thing
I love.”
‘Crime 101’ is out now.
